About Us

The Faculty of Commerce was established in the academic year 1980/1981, it was named as Faculty of Commerce and Economics, it had two departments: The Departments of Management & Accounting and The Departments of Economics. Commerce and Economics the bachelor degree after a successful passing of (128) credit hours, which contained (38) credit hours as a university requirement, (40) credit hours as college requirement and (50) credit hours as major requirement. 1983/1984 the faculty name change to be “Faculty of Economics and Management Science” and the Departments of Management and Accounting was separated into two parts so the faculty consisted of three departments: The Management Departments, the Accounting Departments and The Departments of Economics. 1987/1988 the university board decided to change the faculty name again to be “The Faculty of Commerce”. In addition they adopted its amended plans. Political Science Departments. Work started at this department at the beginning of 1996/1997.

2001/2002 the faculty launched a new specialization of banking and Finance. Then in 2004/2005 the bachelor program started teaching Management & Accounting in English language.

 2005/2006 Economics and Political Departments launched Economy and Applied Statistics specialization.

 

Advanced Studies:

The cooperation with Euro-Arabic School of Management 1998/1999 resulted in the approval of the Faculty of Commerce to open the high diploma program in the Management Departments. In 2001/2002 the master program was opened of the new specialization of Business Administration, then in 2003 the university board approved opening the master program in Accounting and Finance Which was launched at the beginning of the first semester in 2003/2004.

 

Vision if the Faculty of Commerce:

To be the leader in providing the academic programs in Finance,  Economical and Administrative Sciences. Moreover, providing the society with scientific qualification to develop to the human being and the homeland to keep up with the current requirements within the framework of the national and Islamic values.

 

Objectives of the Faculty of Commerce:

1.     To develop the competences at the faculty to suit the needs of learning process.

2.     To start contemporary academic programs that match with the developmental needs of the Palestine society.

3.     To improve the performance of current programs and develop the available knowledge resources the faculty.

4.      To improve and develop the graduate quality to fit with the need of the labor market.

5.      To strengthen the role of the faculty in serving the local society and consolidate the relationship with other in situations and analogous universities.
